SRT files are named with the extension .srt and contain formatted plain text. The following example show English, German, French and Japanese examples of SRT files.

Formatting
Add text using the following formatting:

Text formatting    Description
Numbering    Text fragments are numbered sequentially starting at 1
Time format    hours:minutes:seconds,milliseconds (use a comma as the decimal separator)
Line break    Line break used is often the CR+LF pair.
